Feelfree is originally a New Zealand brand. The company was established in the 1980s, making recreational sit-on kayaks and sit-inside touring kayaks. In the 1990s, white-water kayaks were added to the portfolio. All original Feelfree designs including the NOMAD, GEMINI, MOKEN v1 and more were made in New Zealand. In the first decade of the new millennia, Feelfree was sold to a Thai company based in Bangkok.
Even after the Thai acquisition, Feelfree continued using New Zealand designers and New Zealand mould makers for all new boats. Currently the Feelfree design team is led by the Chief Designer Peter Murphy, a New Zealander who lives in Bangkok and oversees all new major Feelfree projects.
Feelfree kayaks are made in Thailand at our own purpose-built factory. The Feelfree factory is one of the biggest kayak manufacturers. Feelfree supplies dozens of specialized kayak stores all around the world.

A cool, shaded, dry, and secure place would be the best place to store your kayak. Ideally, suspend the kayak by wide webbing straps so the bottom of the kayak doesn’t cave in. Or upside down, resting on padded supports. For a short time, you can lean your kayak against a wall lying on its side.
Avoid laying it flat on the floor for a long time as this could possibly damage the hull – the bottom of the kayak may cave in, especially in warm temperatures.
3 Waters Kayaks are a new brand started by Feelfree, manufactured by the same factory, using identical plastic and utilizing many Feelfree components including the Uni-Track accessories and the Beaver Tail Rudder. In New Zealand 3 Water Kayaks are distributed by KAYAKER Limited.
We still have a source for parts for some discontinued models. If you can’t see the product on our website, please give us a call or email us – we still may be able to help.
If your kayak doesn’t fit inside a vehicle, you’ll need to transport it on a trailer or on a roof rack.
There are kayak carriers available for most types of common roof rack brands. These “cradles” are designed to distribute the weight of the kayak over a large area so the kayak doesn’t suffer damage from sitting on a narrow bar of a roof rack. Tie off securely using Feelfree Tie-Downs. If you are carrying a long kayak, tie the ends off so the kayak doesn’t move in the wind or while driving around corners.
When using a trailer, tie off the kayak so it doesn’t move. Use some rubber of other soft padding to protect the kayak from excessive chafing.
Remove the kayak seat before transporting your boat on a roof rack. This advice applies particularly to the Gravity seat (Lure models) and the EZ Rider Seat (Moken v2 models), as the seat can suffer damage from wind while driving. Also, removing the seat will make the kayak lighter and easier to handle, and reduce fuel consumption.
Yes, you can! Both Moken 10 V2 and Moken 12.5 V2 kayaks are now fitted with a reinforced standing platform. If you prefer a more stable boat, then the Moken 10 V2 may be a better option for you, as this kayak offers exceptional stability and is much more stable that the Moken 12.5.
Your serial number can be located on the stern of your kayak on the right side (starboard) of the boat.
Some kayaks can be upgraded with Overdrive – our pedal drive system. The LURE 11.5 V1 and LURE 11.5 V2 and LURE 13.5 V1 and LURE 13.5 V2 and also LURE II can be upgraded with Overdrive. You will need the Overdrive system itself, a Rudder with Hand Steering and the Seat Adjuster. Get in touch and we will advise the right gear.
Sorry, LURE 10 V2 is not compatible with Feelfree Overdrive system.
